was wondering if anyone know where i can get a grey card to buy over here? and whats the general price for them?

Why not use a white card instead. One can find that any where. Or make it themselves.
A white card is used to set the white balance while a grey card is used for metering purposes.
As long as your card is neutral it doesn't really make too much difference because the camera will meter for grey either way. If you take a picture of a grey wall and a white wall, both the pictures will look the same color.

the reason i wanna get it is so i can get pure white backgrounds like in product photography etc.

^^^ Custom White Balance is your friend , it's what I use when ever I use my Light Box .

custom white balance in camera as dragist said. i have a grey card and hardly uses it, but will not part with it as well. the results are the same.
