O yeah...I started using it after several members here said it was great, and I have to agree it is really great if you're shooting in RAW. I haven't used it on .jpgs since I was already shooting totally in RAW when I acquired it. You can download the trial version at Adobe.com.

You find US$260 a lot but yuh have CS4. Do you know that CS4 cost US$999? If yuh really want a copy of Lightroom 2, you can download a copy @ activedots.com. from BT Junkie.

I not sure if they advocate promoting torrents here eh boss, so watch yuh language... however that IS an option of acquisition. Anyhow, to the OP, LR2 is ill, its definitely perfect for photo management and "non-destructive" editing. I got a mac thus have the option of Aperture 2 also. Tried both of them and decided on LR2, because dealing with multiple shots, editing and sorting made my work flow a lot easier. If you have the money to fork out, get it.

I love LR2. I've been using LR since version 1. I hardly touch PS anymore except for running an action to place my sig, or if I need to do some selective noise removal.

I agree with everyone else it's a great tool, learning how to effectively use it is proving to be a challenge for me. I would also consider the cost of investing in some sort of training DVD or manual as well.

Yeh I have a couple videos, books etc but I find I learn better when in a classroom setting where I'm able to bounce ideas off a lecturer or other students.

Thats ok...The CS4 i got from a friend and i find it really tricky to work with. Looking for a image editing software that bit more user friendly and faster for quick edits.

I find Ulead PhotoImpact which is now Corel PhotoImpact easy to use and is robust enough for most people's needs.

LR2 is such a good software, love the workflow when working with pics as compared to PS where there is none..You like on your own..I do hope LR looks into this as a con..The editing of images is like a snap. But i guess PS is the ultimate when coming to a finish product or should i say a master piece.
