120 film processing and printing

Postby Khandid Camera » Fri Oct 16, 2009 6:13 pm

Does anyone know where I can get my 120 film processed and printed? PhotoWorld can process but not print.

Thanks in advance

Sorry snoflo, missed a comma, it is a lowly Vivitar 100 macro. The zeiss is a 16-80. Will post a couple someday... maybe you and John can take a trip to my house and check them out.

 Man, you have G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome). Your friends will have to help you with this serious condition by taking some of that stuff off your hands. I'll take the a900, thanks. I'd love to visit but unfortunately I'll be abroad come Sunday. Happy Divali to you and your family!

Hey, i just bought a Holga 120N. I see it has a hot shoe, my sb600's should work with it right? I gonna take a rest off of digital and try and shoot some film for a while. I also got some 120mm film, and i got the 35mm film adapter thingy so 35mm film should work too. Advice/comments are welcome.

On a side note. Most of the time, when someone slaps one of those lame film statements on me like “Film, oh ya, I remember that stuff, heh, heh,” it is a sure sign that their work really sucks. Like really sucks. Like it has unicorns in it and the painter tool and shots of their kids with purple fog around the edges.

Seeing more digi photogs trying film. I think this is great.

Enjoy riche. AFAIK the sb600's work fine with your cam.

Can't wait to see the photos you make with your new cam.

Have not shot digital for a few months now, and loving film!! (praying that the digital boys don't get fungus in the meantime) One good shot a day, makes about a roll a month. Want to start developing and printing/enlarging myself, as practice for when I move up in format size. Why not just shoot the 35mm film with a 35mm SLR? They are cheap and you can use the lenses you have now on it. If it is a nikon, then your flash and metering should be a lot easier than with the holga.

As for the Holga, I would stick to the 120mm film. It is a creative tool, and you might miss out on the vignetteing and flares that holga people like if you go 35mm.... not that I have tried it...just oppinion.
Niver miss an opportunity to photograph a good sunrise. It might be the only thing to remind you that your day did not start out that bad.

I plan on shooting as much 120mm i can, but i got the 35mm adapter because i not sure how often i will get 120mm to buy down here, and i really don't want to keep ordering film off of amazon.

Are you developing the 120 yourself?

nah, gonna look for somewhere local to develop. i was thinking about superpharm, telling them to develop and scan to a cd without any adjustments, any recommendations?

The scanner gives you only one setting, the lab people have no control over that, just tell them to scan the film. Level photoshop needed to correct. Same type of machine as photoworld i think. Have not done a lot of processing of the same type of film at super pharm and photoworld (I develop kodak "cheap" films at superpharm and fuji pro 400H at photoworld), so i woould not be giving superpharm a fair comparison. When I develop some more film, I will have a more informed opinion.

Photoworld? Which branch?
Camera matters much less than the photographic eye and the ability to compose a good picture. After all, you can take a great pic with a cell phone.

David's Filmvue may be your only bet.

I wish you luck with the film although the exercise may turn out to be a big pile of frustration in Trinidad.

Oh, I could never understand the allure of a Holga.

Photoworld says they will develop and last night i bought a n Canon LiDe 700F to scan the film. It wasn't too expensive and it got good reviews.

If you want to scan some film, i'll be happy to do it for you for a small fee (hehe gotta at least make a lil money on it)
